STEP 1

One Easy Frame kit will build one square frame, so once you know what you want to build, be sure to work out how many Easy Frame kits you will need for it and have your local hardware or metal supplier help you with the rest.

STEP 2
CALCULATE YOUR MATERIALS
Calculate the number of metal lengths and the number of Kwiktech couplings needed for your project. Our Concepts will inspire you for your specific project, and the Instructions will aid in determining section lengths. Use the Easy Frame A/B/C Cut List Table to determine the exact lengths of metal you will need for the A, B and C sections.
The Easy Frame kit uses 25mm x 38mm (1″ x 1.5″) and 50mm x 50mm (2″ x 2″) hollow metal sections for a robust foundation, readily available at most hardware stores and metal suppliers. Don’t hesitate to ask the store’s staff for cutting services.
A sections can be extended at either end to suit your specific project.

Attach Kwiktech connectors to your metal sections following the D and E dimensions from The Easy Frame DIY Connector Positioning Table. Using the common tools listed here, you can quickly and easily build your frame. You’ll be amazed as your design effortlessly forms a perfectly square and sturdy structure.
STEP 3
ASSEMBLE YOUR FRAMEWORK
Attach Kwiktech connectors to your metal sections following the D and E dimensions from The Easy Frame DIY Connector Positioning Table. Using the common tools listed here, you can quickly and easily build your frame. You’ll be amazed as your design effortlessly forms a perfectly square and sturdy structure.
STEP 4

Enhance your framework’s appearance with the Easy Frame DIY Flashing design for a sleek, modern look. We have created a Colorbond flashing design for Easy Frame DIY frameworks. Your local hardware store or metal supplier can order the flashing in for you using the dimensions detailed here.
Applying Colorbond flashing is a simple yet impactful way to complete your project, with many colours available.

How long do the connectors last?
Our connectors are designed for longevity, outlasting the metal they fit. They are corrosion-free and crafted from UV-resistant Nylon 6, a material known for its durability and resilience. This ensures enduring strength and performance for your structures.
How big can you build with Kwiktech?
The potential size of your build is quite flexible. The primary factor is the length of the metal Kwiktech fits. Consider using bigger hollow sections fixed over the top of the rail sections for larger spans.
We’ve successfully used Kwiktech in structures exceeding 5m in height and width. To achieve even larger spans, use appropriately sized hollow sections and incorporate multiple rails through larger sections.
The Easy Frame DIY Tables look too complex?
Don’t be overwhelmed! Simplify the process by focusing on your build’s specific measurements and the table’s intersections of height and width.
Choose a concept that aligns with your design goals, sketch your structure and add dimensions from the tables, then create a custom material list based on your sketch and take it to your local metal supplier for processing.
Does Kwiktech provide the metal and other building materials?
Kwiktech specializes in providing top-quality connectors and connector fixings for your projects. We also offer detailed PDF instructions to guide you through the building process seamlessly.
To minimize costs associated with transportation, we recommend sourcing additional building materials, such as metal, from your local supplier. This approach not only reduces overall costs for customers but also supports local businesses.
Do I need to use cross/diagonal bracing with my design?
While optional, cross/diagonal bracing significantly boosts structural strength. The recommended angle for optimal strength is 22.5 degrees.
Check the instructions to eliminate the need for cross-bracing using x2 locking screws per coupling, primarily for smaller builds.

Will I need tension strapping and where can I get it?
Adding tension strapping at the Kwiktech connector intersections significantly enhances the strength of your structure. They are secured with two screws at either end, as detailed in the Kwiktech Build Guide HERE. In some cases, it might even be an engineering requirement.
You can easily find the recommended 0.8mm thick and 30mm wide strapping for tension at your local hardware store. It’s available in small rolls, and you can cut it to the appropriate lengths using tin snips for added convenience.
